Southeast Asia Context Expert Therese Caouette Executive Director of Partners Asia is traveling January 28 – February 3, 2014 with The Philanthropy West Global as a context expert on Southeast Asia and Myanmar specifically. TPW stated goals for participants include increasing the traveler’s capacity to:

– Understand the dynamics of a newly opening democratic country and the role of Philanthropy

– Effectively utilizing time, talent, treasure and network resources in a country with a nascent civil society

– Identify partners to further philanthropic goals- intermediaries, public/private partners, NGO’s, community organizations, social entrepreneurs, TPW West members, and other philanthropists

– Build capacity of critical civil society sectors including community based organizations, media, and legal

– Invest in sustainable economic development and social enterprise
